Eagles may employ Broncos DBs coach Christian Parker; report

Reportedly, the Eagles are in the process of hiring a new defensive coach who has connections to Vic Fangio, the team's new coordinator of defense.

According to ESPN's Dan Graziano, Christian Parker, who coached defensive backs for the Broncos, is reportedly going to work for the Eagles.

Parker, who is 32 years old, has coached the Broncos' defensive backs for three years. In 2021, his rookie season with the Broncos, he was an assistant under Vicente Fangio, who was in his last year as head coach.

In 2020, Parker began his NFL career with the Packers. In 2021, he joined the Broncos. Parker has a coaching resume that includes stops at Virginia State, Norfolk State, William & Mary, Notre Dame, and Texas A&M.

Parker has been a member of several excellent Broncos defenses and coached some outstanding players, including Justin Simmons (safety) and Pat Surtain II (cornerback). During his one season under Fangio in 2021, the Broncos' defense ranked third in scoring defense and eighth in yards allowed. The Broncos' defense ranked 29th in the NFL last year

Clint Hurtt, formerly of the Seattle Seahawks, is supposedly already coaching the Eagles' defensive line. In Chicago, Hurtt trained under Fangio. Additionally, Joe Kasper, a former Eagles player and current Fangio associate in Miami for the 2023 season, will be coaching the team's defensive backs.

After initial interest from the Eagles, Karl Scott remained in Seattle to work with new head coach Mike MacDonald on the defense

Earlier this week, we learned that D.K. McDonald, who coached the Eagles' defensive backs for a single season, accepted a position as Kansas' co-defensive coordinator. The Eagles have not yet found a coach for the linebackers. Joe Barry and Mike Caldwell, two former defensive coordinators, were allegedly interviewed for the job.
